I have always had a passion for sports and participated in nearly all sports when at school. I train in the gym or do boot camps most days and love skiing and windsurfing. I qualified as a Physiotherapist at Brunel University in 2001 and can truly say that I love my job and being able to help people feel better both physically and mentally. It has allowed me to travel and meet lots of interesting people. I’ve worked in hospitals with the young and elderly, with the England basketball team and spent two winter seasons in the French Alps working as a Physiotherapist in a ski resort. I decided to branch out into the fitness industry when I realised how many people felt that they could not exercise due to old injuries or ongoing joint problems. Exercise is such an important part of our health and wellbeing and everybody should be able to exercise and achieve their goals if given an appropriate exercise programme.

As an experienced Physiotherapist I have the in depth knowledge of the body, how it works and how we can train around injuries or even better prevent the injuries from occurring in the first place. The key to an effective training program whether it is for weight loss or body building is to know where your strengths and weaknesses lye. This is why the first thing I do for my clients is a full comprehensive assessment before you even step foot in the gym. This ensures that you get a tailored made program for your specific needs and you will then get the most out of your time spent exercising at the gym or home.

About Me

They say ‘choose a job you love and you will never have to work another day’ - I am one of the lucky ones that has! I graduated as a physiotherapist from Brunel University in 2001. I worked within the NHS for 9 years, working my way from junior to Clinical Specialist Level. I left the NHS in 2009 to focus on my own private physiotherapy practice ‘Martinsphysio’ based at Excel Health And Performance Gym and then later went on to establish 3 other practices.

With a passion for exercise and sport I later decided to qualify as a gym instructor and personal trainer and now enjoy combining my expert knowledge of physiotherapy with personal training to provide my clients with the complete health and fitness package to include everything from injury management, acupuncture, sports massage, thai massage, personal training, nutritional advice and weight loss. Now proprietor and partner of Physio2fitness. Outside of work I enjoy anything active! My hobbies being Weight training, running, pilates, yoga, windsurfing, skiing, horse riding and the outdoors.

My Training Philosophy

You only get one body to live in so take good care of it ‘Your present circumstances do not determine where you go, merely where you start
